Possible topic idea: Phones - travel from the invention of the phone with Alexander Graham Bell, to party line phones in the home, to individual phone lines at each house and rotary phones, to teenagers having their own lines in their house, payphones, to early cell phones, to modern time where every kid is glued to their cell phones. You could show a phone book from older times to the tiny white pages of today.
Possible topic idea: Roles of women in the work place - go through history from a time when women did not work outside the home but did work on farms, raising children, etc. to WWII when women took on factory jobs, then the 1950s when women were encouraged to stop working and go back to being housewives, to the 1960s with limited career options for women, to the 1970s and1980s ERA movement, to modern times and careers accessible to women.
